Safety First

During the winter months Wetwheels Yorkshire crew are busy preparing for the new season and our recent training exercises demonstrate our approach to safety is second to none.

February 2019 saw a full compliment of crew undergo a training exercise with the Scarborough RNLI crew.

Following a pre-exercise brief both the ILB (inshore lifeboat) and ALB (all-weather lifeboat) were launched and all three boats carried out a number of 'what if?' type exercises in Cayton Bay, Scarborough.

It gave the RNLI team the opportunity to explore Wetwheels Yorkshire and our unique safety equipment whilst offering Wetwheels crew the opportunity to better understand the RNLI role in keeping EVERYONE safe.

This was followed by a visit to HMCG (Humber Coast Guard station, Bridlington) who watch over the region between Berwick-upon-Tweed and London, and with whom Wetwheels Yorkshire liaises ON EVERY TRIP (this is who we call on the radio before setting off, and upon our return, on every trip.
